What does the Bible have to say about recovery?

The Bible has many passages that relate to recovery and encourage healing.

Isaiah 41:10 "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." This passage offers comfort and reassurance that God is with us and will help us through difficult times.

Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." This verse reminds us that God is near to those who are suffering and that he provides healing and restoration.

Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through him who gives me strength." Paul’s encouragement to the Philippians to trust in God's strength and power to overcome challenges and adversity is true for us too!

2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" Remember that through Christ, we experience a new beginning and are transformed into a new creation!

James 5:15 "And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven." This verse emphasizes the power of prayer and the importance of seeking forgiveness for our sins.

It's important to note that recovery and healing are a journey, and it can be helpful to seek support and guidance from others, including a healthcare provider or a substance abuse treatment professional.
